Family Events Take Center Stage at Winter Festival This Weekend Performances, Parade, Pancakes, Plus More!
Local families can enjoy many free and fun-filled activities at the Winter Festival this weekend. Starting on Saturday morning at 10:00, St. John’s School is alive with excitement and drama!
First up is the perennial Winter Festival favorite, the puppet show. This year we’re featuring Tuckers' Tales performance of “Drakestail”, the creative duck who has to retrieve his gold & avoid being destroyed by the wicked king.
Children of all ages will love hearing “Waiting for Winter”, a captivating story of a determined Squirrel who has never seen snow and doesn’t want to miss it! Told by professional story teller Rebecca Del Piano.
Audiences will be delighted by theater and dance performances by players from Kristine Lewis Theatre Arts Center, Downtown PAC Players, The Dance Junction, and local elementary schools.
At 12:00 noon, audiences can go out to the street to see the parade! Mummers, marching bands, floats and more!
No charge for admission. Food and beverages available at the PTSO Café. Full schedule can be seen online: http://www.winterfestival.net/familyevents.html
On Sunday, families can head over to New Hope-Solebury High School for a delicious Pancake Breakfast, SnowFollk Exhibit, and free Winter Activity Center with moon bounce, crafts and more!
Winter Festival sponsors a food and fund drive for Fisherman’s Mark, so families can help other local families in need by bringing non-perishable food to the Festival events. Receptacles will be available at St. John’s, along the parade route, and at the high school. Fisherman’s Mark provides food and clothes, affordable childcare, employment counseling, GED or ESL tutoring and healthcare to those in need.
