4th Annual Holistic Living Expo
Resources for Wellness presents the Fourth Annual Holistic Living Expo March 29, 2008, 10 AM to 5 PM at the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology, 2740 Old York Road, Jamison, PA. The Holistic Living Expo, a ”Showcase of Regional Holistic Practitioners, Services, and Products dedicated to Renewable Living,” celebrates and promotes holistic living with over 60 holistic minded vendors showcased at the day-long event. Free demonstrations, free seminars, children’s activities, healthy food, and door prizes are some of the highlights of the Expo. The entrance fee is $5 per person.
Holistic lifestyles are more prevalent than ever in today’s health and environment conscious society. The goal of the Expo is to educate the general public about the advantages of incorporating holistic therapies and treatments and renewable products and services into one’s lifestyle and healing. The vendor list includes practitioners of shiatsu, chiropractic, nutrition counseling, reflexology, yoga, essential oils, meditation, massage, energy therapy, and homeopathy; sustainable living and healthy home advisors; soy candles and wellness jewelry; nutritional supplements, Tibetan bowl sound therapy, organic foods and products; and much more.
Dr. Beth DuPree, noted Bucks County breast care specialist and surgeon and author of The Healing Consciousness, is one of the keynote speakers. In The Healing Consciousness Dr. DuPree describes her spiritual journey over the past several years and how she has come to integrate holistic therapies into her traditional medical practice. A quote from her book reads, “When you awaken to your essence, then you can’t help but listen to the messages that you receive.”
Also speaking are David Secan, Certified Sustainable Building Advisor,Renewable Lifestyle Consultant, and Organizational Sustainability Consultant and Judy Logback, Founder and Administrator of the Kallari Association. Mr. Secan and Ms. Logback will talk about our society’s need for energy and precious metals and the impact on our natural resources. They will also talk about holistic solutions to the problems - solutions in which every person on earth can participate to make his/her life a healthier place to live.
The Holistic Living Expo was started four years ago by Dr. Karen McGlynn of McGlynn Chiropractic, Doylestown, PA. Dr. McGlynn has been promoting healthy eating and living for herself, her family and friends, and her clients for many years. This year the Expo is run by McGlynn Chiropractic and Resources for Wellness, a local group of holistic minded practitioners and friends who network once a month. Resources for Wellness was started in 2001 by Marilyn Bullock of New Hope, PA. Ms. Bullock has been interested in holistic therapies since her recovery from breast cancer in 2000.
