Laurie Smith was attracted to the New Hope area many years ago, when, in 1995, she and her husband moved into The Waterworks apartments along the Delaware River. A few years later, she launched her holistic healing business—The Healing House—on Feeder Street in Lambertville, where she taught courses on a wide variety of topics like meditation and Feng Shui, as well as met with private Reiki and spiritual life coaching clients.

When her husband was offered a job many miles from New Hope—in San Francisco—they jumped at the chance to travel across country. While now living many miles away, their love for this beautiful riverfront area is still very much alive. In fact, it is this love that led them to keep their home along the river, and for the last two years, rent it out as a short-term vacation rental. While The River House is now for sale (see www.RiverHouseNJ.com), both Laurie and her husband have enjoyed sharing the home and their love of this area with others—including one couple who rented the home, and got engaged on the waterfront deck!

“Whenever I drive over the bridge between Lambertville and New Hope, something inside me shifts and I really a sense of deep peace,” said Laurie of her love for the area. “We always want to keep our ties to this beautiful area.”

In addition to managing The River House, Laurie keeps busy as a mother of their son Devin James, (age 3-1/2), and she is now pregnant with their second child, due in June. Since moving to California, she also discovered a new hobby—she joined a novice rowing club. Until becoming pregnant, she enjoyed rowing crew on the San Francisco Bay, a hobby she hopes to return to after the baby’s birth.

Laurie also continues to enjoy her holistic healing work. She recently had two of her books published—Soul Wisdom: A Guide to Miraculous Living, Book One, and Spirit In Disguise: A Guide to Miraculous Living, Book Two. Both are available on www. Amazon.com. She also publishes an ezine called Spreading Sunshine through her website www.LaurieSmith.com, filled with inspirational articles and good news from throughout the world.

Laurie continues to love teaching, and recently launched a course through the website www. SelfHealingExpressions.com called Miracles: Creating Your Magical Life with Energy and Intuition.
