19th Annual New Hope Juried Outdoor Arts & Crafts Festival Sept 29 and 30
More than 200 artists and craftspeople will showcase their talent at the 19th Annual Juried New Hope Arts & Crafts Festival on the weekend of Sept 29 and 30. Weather permitting, the free Festival will kick-off at 9:30 p.m. Friday evening with fireworks on the Delaware River.
Saturday and Sunday festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Now in its 19th year, the Arts & Crafts Festival is sponsored and run by the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce. As in years past, local and out-of-state artists come together to display and promote their oil paintings, watercolors, pastels, sculptures, photography, jewelry, ceramics, glass and wood works and drawings. A panel of local artist judges will select first, second and third prize winners for the categories jewelry, photography, crafts and fine art. The will also choose a “Best in Show” winner.
This year the Festival is moving to the lawns and parking areas of the New Hope Solebury High School on West Bridge Street in New Hope. With the expanded space, the Festival will accommodate a greater number of talented artists as well as offer a dedicated food tent and a music tent that will host local talent throughout the day.
“We are thrilled to have obtained the high school grounds and hope this locale will become our permanent location,” explained Connie Gering, Arts & Crafts Festival chairperson. “The larger venue allows us to offer festival attendees and vendors the best possible experience.”
The Chamber is providing a free shuttle that will run between the various parking lots and the Festival grounds. The shuttle will also stop in the center of New Hope at the Bucks County Playhouse. The Chamber’s centrally located information booth will distribute program guides and maps.
Sponsoring the event are Chevrolet, B101, First Federal of Bucks County, Renewal by Anderson, ING Direct, the Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, the Bucks County Herald, and GPM Media (Intelligencer.)
