New Hope Dog & Cat Poker Run
Featuring a 80-Mile Motorcycle Ride through Bucks County and a Sunday Afternoon “Destination Celebration” at Fran’s Pub in New Hope
The Crossings Animal Sanctuary, Inc., a nonprofit animal welfare organization, will host the first “New Hope
Dog & Cat Poker Run”, an 80-mile motorcycle ride and destination celebration, to be
held on Sunday, October 9, 2011. The proceeds of this fundraiser will benefit the animal
welfare work of The Crossings Animal Sanctuary, including special rescue projects, pet
information & referral, and community education. Our goal for this first motorcycle ride is
to involve 150-200 riders and to raise $10,000.
The ride will begin at Brian’s Harley-Davidson in Langhorne, with registration from 9:30-11 am. Riders, who will be joined by several members of Rescue Ink-Redemption, will then travel through Bucks County, stopping at five Participating restaurant “pit stops”. At each of the five restaurants, riders will stop for a brief respite, draw a “poker card” from a CAS volunteer, and be introduced to a local rescue organization set up with information and pets for adoption.
Fran’s Pub in New Hope is the final destination, and the celebration location. The party at Fran’s will begin at 12 Noon and continue to 5 p.m. The riders will be joined at Fran’s by CAS supporters and volunteers; the public is invited to attend as well. In addition to awarding a prize to the rider with the best poker hand, there will be raffles, door prizes, and live music.
Pre-registration for riders has already begun, and will continue through September 30. The cost is $20 per rider, and $10 per passenger. Riders can register online at www.TheCrossingsAnimalSanctuary.org; by mailing in a registration form, available at weekend CAS tables throughout the area; or by calling The Crossings Animal Sanctuary at (215) 321-4673. After September 30, registration will occur on the day of the event at Brian’s Harley Davidson; the cost will be $25 for rider and $15 for passengers.
For additional information, contact The Crossings Animal Sanctuary at (215) 321-4673 or visit CAS online.
